Aloha! I’m Nadine Castillo, a student at the University of Hawai’i – West O’ahu majoring in Creative
Media with a concentration in General Creative Media. I was born and raised in Hawai’i on the island of
O’ahu. I have always been interested in taking the media path back when I was at Waipahu Intermediate and
Waipahu High School, and since have had a continuous growing passion for it. Eventually, I decided to take a
bigger leap and participate in multiple states, national, and international competitions where I was able to put
my skills to the test. Here I am now studying to earn my Bachelor’s in Creative Media in hopes to continue
this path as an occupation.
Aside from school, I volunteer with various groups such as ‘Olelo Community Media as a mostly a
cinematographer or camera operator. I’ve also been volunteering with prevention organizations such as
Hawai’i Partnership to Prevent Underage Drinking as their creative media aide, and youth co-chair, and have been
helping to manage their social media page. I’ve also done some work with my high school with media-related
projects! In my free time, I love to take pictures and draw both traditionally and digitally.
